A tour in the green Umbria region, with its hills and slopes covered with olive groves, pines and grapevines and its eternally fascinating cities. For art-lovers a visit to the Basilica of Saint Francis is a must, two 13th century churches one on top of the other, frescoed by Giotto and Cimabue; the Basilica of Santa Chiara, the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Assisi is not only full of nuns and monks but also local artisans intent on their crafts, so you will have time to wander around the shops and discover not only the traditional Franciscan cross-stitched embroidery and the majolica, but also sculptures and paintings.
